“This time our man is going through a transitional period leading him to a more spiritual place.” A new season means a new mindset for the Cottweiler man. We’ve previously seen him camping in shopping malls (SS18) and breaking and entering London’s Natural History Museum (FW18), but this season he’s on a journey: of mind, body and soul.

When we asked the designer duo – Ben Cottrell and Matthew Dainty – for an image reflecting their upcoming SS19 collection, they sent us a yellow glass lotus flower, an ancient Buddhist symbol of enlightenment and purity. Informed by their recent travels across Asia and Australia, the pair have returned to London with peace in their hearts and wisdom in their heads… or is there a darker side to this Cottweiler cult?

What can you tell us about your SS19 collection?
The SS19 collection is about New Age Cults.

What has influenced it?
Our recent travels around Asia and Australia.

What have you been up to since FW18?
We’ve been travelling for research a lot farther afield than we usually do.

This time our man is going through a transitional period leading him to a more spiritual place.

How do you want the show to make people feel?
