Joan Collins’ Versace boots and Charles Jeffrey tees: DSM celebrate Hello! magazine’s 30th birthday with some extra special items
By Alex James Taylor | Fashion | 10 May 2018

Having been founded in 1988, in its 30 year reign Hello! magazine has become something of a British institution. I mean, where else would you read about Rod Stewart’s latest marriage while waiting to have root canal treatment? Exactly.

Marking the publication’s big 3-0, Hello! has teamed up with Dover Street market for a special event at the cult store’s London location. Enlisting some of the world’s best established and emerging design talents, the publication set the task of reimagining its iconic logo as a piece of fashion or art to be sold at DSM, with proceeds going to two charities, Sentebale and 7: The David Beckham UNICEF Fund.

Located in a special Hello! newsagent space designed by set designer Andy Hillman, stand-out pieces include t-shirts designed by Stella McCartney, comedy headline tees by Charles Jeffrey, caps by legendary milliner Stephen Jones and some mega-furry slippers by Ashley Williams that we’re sure will be de rigueur in the Hello! offices today.

Alongside the DSM space, an online auction will be flogging some epic one-of-a-kind items and experiences. The highly covetable line-up includes a night out with Peter Dundas, Grayson Perry’s Kateboard – featuring Kate Middleton on a skateboard – a private tour of Katherine Hamnett’s studio by the artist herself, a one-on-one shopping experience with Sarah Jessica Parker and – get this – a pair of Versace boots from Joan Collins’ own extensive shoe collection, plus a personal beauty consultation with the legend herself. Explore the full auction here and get bidding!

Dover Street Market x Hello! runs for a week from 9th May at Dover Street Market London.
