Camper’s awkward yearbook images are a nostalgic delight

Camper is turning heads once again with its new campaign for the SS18 season. Tapping into to the awkwardness of the 80s and the dreaded High School pictures, the campaign touches on the duality and relationship between a shoe and its owner.

Quirky and brilliantly odd, the campaign further extends the artistic vision of creative director Romain Kremer who, since joined the Spanish brand in 2014, has continuously provided us with absurd campaigns rooted by an inventive approach.

Think bad hairstyles and Napoleon Dynamite glasses – each shoe is accompanied by short clips that bring the characters to life, stylistically reminiscent of dorky 80/90s kids combined with the awkwardness of teenage years – including a hamster with a bouffant and a sci-fi nerd.
