Carhartt WIP have teamed up with Russian brand Absurd Skateboards on a special new capsule collection. To mark the collaboration, skaters from both brands journeyed across Russia on an epic skate trip through the vast country.

Clocking up over 6000km, the team journeyed through five time zones and one hundred different skate spots, from the urban skyscrapers of Moscow to the picturesque Lake Baikal – the oldest and deepest freshwater lake in the world.

Featuring Carhartt WIP skaters Igor Fardin, Felipe Bartolomé and Joseph Biais, alongside Absurd’s Tolia Titaev and Gosha Konyshev, the trip was captured by videographer Anton Beliaev and photographer Alexey Lapin, with the assistance of Kirill Korobkov.

Titled O3EPO (meaning ‘lake’ in Russian), the collection boasts a range of longsleeve sweats, T-shirts and accessories including skateboard decks, a beanie and shashlik sticks – a nod towards the guys’ diet during the trip.

Alexey Lapin and Felipe Bartolomé’s photography from the journey will be curated into a limited edition 96-page zine, titled Even In Siberia There Is Happiness, while the full travel film will be premiered this summer at Bright in Berlin and Faces & Laces in Moscow, with more showings to follow in other cities. The O3EPO collection is available now at the Cahartt WIP online store.
