Elements of the past and present merge in the latest Woolrich FW17 collection, as the outdoor brand presents their updated version of their signature Arctic Parka. Set against the backdrop of the vast, white Alaskan panorama, the campaign evokes the boldness of the explorer cast adrift in the wilderness.

Shot by photographer Ryan Willms, the pioneer narrative unfolds as he captures the vast forests framed by winding frozen rivers, offset by the grand Knik and Colony crystalline blue glaciers. Inspired by the great feats of the Scottish-American naturalist John Muir, his 1899 expedition to Alaska embodies the essence of brand’s attitude – curiosity, conviction and innovation.

The return to the essential elements of Woolrich has led to the renovation of their iconic pieces –namely, the overcoat and parka, which were developed in 1972 for those working on the pipeline in the north of the Alaskan state. An integral item for the winter, this season’s parka remains true to its original form, but with variations allowing ample selection. In particular, the Polar Parka showcases the developments in design, introducing a shearling-lined hood. Also, for the first time, the collection includes footwear in the form of the durable Hiker Boot in limited edition. Crafted from the wool of Woolrich Mill, the mountain boots are featured alongside this season’s trainers, ideal for the dynamic cityscape.
